Review: Misfit school Carrie (sissy Spacek) unleashes her telekinetic fury of his tormentors. It was a big hit in 1976 and it scared me silly. It does not scare me now (except for the closure order), but I still think its a good solid horror film by Brian De Palma poorly managed. It moves fast, has some great pictures (everything is soft focus shot with color enabled) and performs almost uniformally good. The only bad is way out of John Travolta to play the hood depth. Amy Irving (as a student who befriends Carrie), William Katt (Afro with a very 70's), Nancy Allen (played by real bitch), Betty Buckley (so young and full of energy) and PJ Soles (silly, but bearable) are all perfect. But Spacek Piper Laurie is gorgeous together, be more scary and beautiful as her mother disturbed religious. Also, the movie was (by today's standards) very limited in terms of blood and gore. And the final sequence will make you jump (see also the cars in the background at the time - it will be moving back!) The only complaint - Do not De Palma indeed some high school kids - feel like he was working on some personal issues here. And actually I have went along with the order slow-mo? Part - it was a great movie. See a letter in the box.
